Fire Stopping

Currently serving all of Saskatchewan

Ultimate Insulation Foam and Fire is an active member in good standing with the FCIA (Firestopping Contractors International Association)

What is it?

Firestopping is a passive fire protection system that prevents flames, smoke and toxic fumes from spreading between rooms for a period of time, which allows occupants time to escape the building safely.

Who can install it?

In Saskatchewan, as per the 2020 National Building Code and the 2020 National Fire Code, Certified technicians are required to install fire-stopping systems.

How do I know certified technicians are installing the fire stopping?

Certified technicians can provide their fire-stopping certificate of completion of a UL or FM Solutions certification course.

How do I know if my building needs firestopping?

The 2020 Building Code outlines the criteria for whether buildings require firestopping for safety purposes. The City of Regina is enforcing these requirements through annual inspections. The Fire Inspector will inform you if firestopping is required in your building
